During almost 3 months (from April to July 2017), I followed a couple of wild Long-eared Owl (Asio otus) that I had spotted. In May, the family growth up to 6. The parents had settled in an old nest of magpies (at about twenty meters from the ground) in a birch tree to lay. The 7 June, the youngs left the nest and stayed in the neighborhoods during days and days.
About 3 weeks after leaving the nest, they were totally able to fly by their own and to move wherever they want. As they were growing, they were more and more difficult to see climbing always higher in the trees and no longer making noises during day time. They finally disappeared completely in the woods where only their cries were still audible when the night had fallen...
