This work was carried out in the month of October 2017 in Upper Dolpo, one of the most remote regions of Nepal, during a 30-day trek. Upper Dolpo can only be reached on foot, due to the lack of roads. Local people, of Tibetan origin, lives in an archaic context, untouched by modernity, away from the routes of Himalayan treks. Life is based on agriculture and pastoralism in a very harsh environment at high altitudes.
He published several books and he carried out some photographic project for exhibitions in Italy and others country

About author:
Stefano Torrione (Aosta, 1962) has gained his experience in photojournalism. The most important step of his activity as a photographer was his contribution to the magazine Epoca from 1992 to 1997 which leaded him to the Panorama European Kodak Award in 1993 in Arles for his reportage on the street children of Bucharest. He got more and more interested in geographical and ethnographical reportage and has travelled and worked in many countries around the world for Italian and foreign travel magazines, like Geo, Panorama Travel, Gente Viaggi, Traveller, In Viaggio, Rutas del Mundo, Tuttoturismo.He published several books and he carried out some photographic project for exhibitions in Italy and others country
