Me, Myself and I.
Reflection of the narcissism of the time?

The selfie has become a tool of communication or social recognition omnipresent on the Internet. This practice can be seen as a narcissistic manifestation, an unreasoned love of oneself or of one's own image, the outcome of individualism in postmodern societies. The selfie could aim to compensate for the loss of reality in a contemporary society where screen is mirroring the world.
According to André Gunthert and contrary to appearances, the selfie would not be only the sad reflection of a society obsessed by its appearance. "It is a connected image, which presents itself as a proposition of interaction, in a conversational context. It is therefore a tool of social exchange, (Narcissus saw only himself, was interested only in his mirror, he would probably never have posted his portrait on internet), not an "all ego" and not devoid of second degree.
In short, selfie is multiple.
