Midwife Sarit Shatken-Stern gives birth at The Birthplace at Baystate Franklin Medical Center, where she works, with the help of her husband, Adam Stern, and her colleagues. The Birthplace gives women an unusual degree of decision-making power in their births, and all low-risk deliveries are attended by a Certified Nurse Midwives with doctor backup. As a result, the facility has some of the lowest rates of Cesarean in the state.
Shot on assignment for Lifetime/A&E.
