Death Rattle

We approached this storm from the rear. To get the shot of the approaching front, this meant that we would have to drive right through the middle of it and out the other side. An hour later we were clear, having passed through flash floods and hail, but as I put down my tripod the sound of a western rattle snake less than a foot away sent me jumping clear. The snake fled into the field in front of us, and I could finally (and safely) capture a scene I'll never forget for many reasons.
This is a 5 - shot panoramic, stitched in Lightroom, shot in Great Falls, Montana.
