Some who think they have little, should remember they have more than most in a world with so much poverty hate and hunger it pays to be humble.
I recently returned home to Whanganui to raise my two small children, after spending four years in Australia where I spent some time pursuing performing arts. This journey also led me back to the photographic world when I picked up my first DSLR in 2011.
My ambition is to continue to pursue my true passion - Fine Art Photography - and what better place to do it than my hometown. Whanganui is such an art hub and has so much to offer by way of Inspiration.
My work has been featured several times with NZ renowned photographic magazine "D-Photo" receiving first place for a creative category in 2015 sigma D-photo competition followed by a digital online publication "Catching Up With The Winners A Year On", and this year honorable mention in the world renowned International Photography Awards for my self portrait "Inevitable Disappearance". And featuring again in the next issue of D-photo out in December this time for my entry in the kids portrait competition.
In 2012 I was invited to be a part of a collective and opening a gallery here that supported local and emerging artists. Our gallery, Fine Arts Whanganui, opened in November last year. This journey continues to inspire me and it's great to have such a beautiful permanent space for my work and constant support and inspiration from fellow members and visitors.
I feel my style of photography is emotional and thought provoking.
