Trees are like humans, they have character and even soul can be noticed. Photographs in this project shows their actions: quarrel, choice and objection. In comparison to us, wooden characters do not have any possibility to change their faint. Hopefully we can fix almost any situation and problem. For me it’s like a scene form fairy tale for children: “Be good or in the next life… you will be transformed into a tree”.

Photographed in blizzard, fog and snow because all subjects needed special conditions to get separated from disturbing backgrounds.

Location: Poland, near Jawor city.

Made in hybrid process: shoot on black&white negative film using medium format camera, developed and scanned then post processed in digital dark room.

About author:

I was born in 1985. I’m an electronics engineer and I work as a graphic designer/programmer. Photography is my hobby, which helps me to break away from everyday life. My first camera was a digital camera, but my photographic journey began when the rolls of slides and negatives appeared in the desk instead of SD cards. From that moment the time slowed down and the magic of photography appeared.
