Depression

This series of photos is deeply intimate but in a broader sense it reflects depression as it is. I have gone through a long phase of severe depression, a particular state of mind that is hard to explain, but in these photos I have found the best way to present how I felt, a way even better than attending my psychoterapy sessions. In all these photos there are two persons interwining, a person seen by others and my real Self at the time; a beautiful woman with all necessary reasons to be happy and satisfied and on the other side a woman feeling useless, paralysed, broken, trapped, existing without a real sense of living.
This is a kind of visual depression, but not only that. It was my struggle, my remedy, my comfort, my redemption and my recovery. And in the end this is my sympathy for all those suffering from this insidious and agonizing illness.
Took up photography a couple of years ago. Particulary interested in portrait photography. During the last year she moved her focus mainly on female portraits trying to explore all sides of female soul.

A 36 years old English language teacher working at the local High school. Graduated from Belgrade University in 2005 at The Faculty of Philology. Moved to her home town where she started working as a teacher. Married in 2006, a mother of two children whose father died of cancer in 2014. Remaried in September 2017.Took up photography a couple of years ago. Particulary interested in portrait photography. During the last year she moved her focus mainly on female portraits trying to explore all sides of female soul.
