The series is loosely based upon the character Furiosa from Mad Max:Fury Road
The model was shot in the studio and the background images come from of my visits to Iceland as I felt these provided, with some desaturation, the best backdrops to enhance the desolation of the entire series.
Multiple layers, layer blending techniques and photoshop brushes were used to help build up and create the composites. Then clarity and desaturation to emphasise the overall effect I was trying to achieve.
I wanted each image to be able to stand on it's own and provide the viewer with a questioning of whats going on? and as a series provide an insight into the lonely desolate world around her. Although this is subjective from the viewers point of view, hopefully it works.
The 'thousand yard stare' of the model was used to provide the viewer with a connection to the model yet at the same time a disconnection as she endures her world.
