I took this image in 2008 whilst we were travelling along route Irish, Baghdad, for a sustainment run to the Baghdad International Airport. This was coming past an area where a known sniper was targeting local nationals and soft targets. The ASLAV can be seen scanning to the left where the suspected sniper was.
I bought myself a Nikon D3300 Kit lens camera and started shooting away. as time went on I started to read books about photography and how to work my camera to the best of my ability. I drew inspiration from people like Gary Ramage.
I've said that I wouldn't have a style but I always go towards the documentary side of photography as I like to bring the gritty parts to light, but also the better stories as well.
