The Waipu Caves in the Northland of New Zealand are a special place. Once deep inside one of the chambers, thousands of glowworms were shining about our head. I noticed this tree shape created by some of them while this girl was admiring this "galaxy", standing beneath it. To get enough light from this scene I then decided to take a long exposure shot (2 minutes) and use my flashlight to bring a mystical atmosphere to the scene.
I’ve been taking photos of the wildlife in France for more than 10 years, mostly focusing on insects and especially dragonflies. I find macro photography really interesting because it allows me to show a discreet world from another point of view. By revealing the beauty of these animals, I hope some people will become aware of the importance of preserving them.
I recently started to travel far from my country, for now in New Zealand, which gave me the desire to discover unique landscapes and places. Still a beginner in landscape and astrophotography, I feel like I need to share my experiences through my camera.
