Located on the South tip of Roosevelt Island on East River in New York City, Roosevelt Four Freedom Park was the very last masterpiece of the legendary architect Louis Kahn. The park requires 15 minutes walk from the closest subway station, asking visitors to take a walk along the river and escape from the bustling city. After climbing the stairs, the carefully selected trees and protected lawn offers visitors a refreshment before entering the memorial. The memorial is comprised of several huge but neat stones, while blocking out the clamor from the street, it also encompasses a minimalist space. Asking visitors to meditate along with President Roosevelt’s declaration of freedom in the precious serenity.
