This series was taken on a visit to the Devil's Marbles Conservation Reserve in the Northern Territory of Australia. I have a long standing fascination with this area and this tree in particular. There is the obvious colour contrast of the stark white trunk of the gum, against the rich colour of the single Devil's Marble. There is also the contrast of the living tree and the inanimate rock. There was a strong breeze blowing at the time and rather than working against me, this further strengthened the contrast of the living moving tree and the solid immoveable rock.
