James Davis's interest in photography began nearly 60 years ago when given a Box Brownie camera by an aunt. On leaving school a photographic apprenticeship taught him many aspects of commercial photography which was followed by three years as a ship's photographer in the mid nineteen-sixties. This saw him travelling around the world and the start of his World-wide Photographic Travel Library built up from photographs taken in the many countries visited around the globe.
After this he began his own commercial photography business with the emphasis on marketing to tour operators and publishers of all types eventually turning this into a full time business at the start of the 'eighties. He contiued to expand his travel photography selling to a whole variety of clients such as British Airways, National Geographic Books, the Daily Telegraph, Saga Holidays and many others.
Now nearly sixty years on he undertakes illustrated audio-visual lectures to organisations and on board cultural cruise ships whilst embracing the latest developments in digital photography and leaving the marketing of his travel photography to specialist online agencies.
