What is a wiped head? What is a "no portrait"?
What is a street, from its furniture, which erases your face?
What is a city that hides you? Is it to protect you or to swallow you?
A strange breach, a pure well, a blank canvas filled with our own physiognomic lines.
Thus evolves, the faceless man, in a generic waltz which refers to all other faces, in a one-way relationship,
without an image and without return or rather the return could only be imagined.
In short, an intrigue, where by looking for somebody, one ends up finding himself!

About author:

Hakim Boulouiz is an expert in urban aesthetics with a multidisciplinary training. After a diploma in architecture, a diploma in filmmaking and a master degree in territory planning, he completed a PhD at the University of Geneva analyzing the ambivalent relationship between urban design and the art of film. He is fascinated by order and disorder of cities, by fullness and emptiness, by spaces and dressing it up in light and shadow. Each « portrait » of an urban fragment has its own language which is in perpetual metamorphosis and this is all the magic of the street and all the purpose of the photographic immediacy. Today he is active in street photography all around the world.
