Green turtles, like all species of turtles, are endangered, but they have found some sort of a safe haven in Cyprus. I spent 3 seasons watching and photographing them to try and raise awareness for these animals. The biggest risk they face in Cyprus is development, as more and more people try to develop the last remains beaches where they lay their eggs. It is essential that these beaches are left untouched, and that big buildings don't litter the beach line, because the lights from these building disorientate both the adults and the hatchlings, causing a great decrease in the number of successful nests.
