The Sheppard Woman

This is an image of a Sheppard woman carrying her baby on the back and a young pashmina goat in her arms. These Sheppard's live the life of nomads and travel along the middle Himalayas of Ladakh, India through out the year in search for food for their cattle. The image was taken at the small village on the Tso Moririr (Lake) .
Born on June 1st 1964, Ranjan had a natural flair for photography since childhood, studied it in school, followed by self-learning and workshops over the last decade. He has graduated in the ‘complete course of professional photography’ from the New York Institute of Photography, USA.
