Summer road trip. Long, monotonous gaps between short and bright precious moments. A grey zone of silent self reflections and expectations. Constant heat, tiredness and movement. Calm coexistence, a micro universe where all the wishes for introverted escapes are tolerated. Although I often photograph while travelling, it never results as series that could be defined as a “travel photography”. What interests me more in these situations are group dynamics, relations between the travel companions (often good friends of mine) and the “in-between moments”. I am also there and involved and often my images reflect a very personal perspective.
For me it’s very personal, intimate process. I pay a lot of attention to the details that composes my surroundings. This world is a strange place to be and things doesn’t always makes sense. Being a participant, an observer and an interpreter I’m trying to create my own symbols and stories (more like a poetry, instead of journalistic report). And overall - It’s the excitement to discover and capture.

About author:
Currently I am living and studying in Munich, Germany. Originally I am from Latvia. I moved to continue my studies in the field of fine arts. I did ceramics, printmaking, installation and what else not. For a log time photography was my sort of little dirty secret - when I had time and possibility I was hiding behind my beloved, little analog point-and shoot camera or loosing myself for hours in photo book stores. Recently I decided that it’s time to come out of the closet and face my obsession with photography. For me it’s very personal, intimate process. I pay a lot of attention to the details that composes my surroundings. This world is a strange place to be and things doesn’t always makes sense.
