This is and exotic ant (Technomyrmex albipes) on a Chinese rose in a Dutch (butterfly) garden...
He was all alone, running around on the flower as if he was looking for his relatives, and stood for a second on this stem as if it was a tower to look over the garden.
Explanation of the title: the Dutch word for ant is 'mier'. Rémi is the main character in the famous French book Sans Famille (Hector Malot) and remi is an anagram voor the Dutch word mier.

About author:
I am a passionate nature lover with special attention for the 'ordinary' which I actually find quite special. I don't have to go to far away country's or spectacular places to find nice photo-subjects. There is plenty of wonderful nature where I live, and even around my house I see enough 'photo oppertunities'. I like all sorts of photography but I lost my heart to macro. Just give me a few square meters and I can amuse myself for hours with my camera... It's meditative and makes me happy.BACK TO GALLERY
