In this series I have tried to draw attention to the continuous expectation of perfection which is so prevalent in the consumerism of today’s society. It’s no secret that we live in an age of instant gratification. Out with the old and in with the new became ubiquitous. Stuff…is everywhere! How old does it have to be before it is discarded? Apparently not very. If there is one thing that this series has taught me it is what is perceived as ‘ugly’ and ‘worn out’ is only in the mind.
Ugly can be beautiful!
Prue trained at the National Art School in Sydney in Graphic Design as a prelude to a career in the fashion industry and undertook further training in Fashion Design at Harrow College in London.
Prue worked in London, where she regularly exhibited her own label at The British Designer Show, and Milanovendemoda in Italy. Now living back in Sydney, Prue attended various digital photography courses at the Centre for Photography.
