I have been capturing reflections in Amsterdam canals for 15 years and always been fascinated by some of the colourful pictures. To photograph reflection from ice is much more difficult, the temperature in Amsterdam is rarely goes below zero. Nevertheless, I witnessed and captured several beautiful moments when buildings and trees reflect from ice and create a feeling of being in a fairy tale. Houses, bridges, churches reflecting off water also create a dreamy atmosphere. Nevertheless, you can easily recognize through distorted reflections inimitable in its beauty Amsterdam architectural style.

About author:
I am not a professional photographer, however I have been taking photographs for all my life. I started when I was 12 and my first camera was Zenit TTL, that was a birthday present from my grandparents. I used to develop and print photos of my classmates in the bathroom. Later, I switched my focus to urban landscape. Digital photography facilitated shooting and editing processes and significantly improved the quality of my pictures. At the moment I am interested in exploring impressionist, abstract and surreal styles, bluring the reality and at the same moment to showing the beauty I see around me.BACK TO GALLERY
