The boundary of the world's largest Tibetan Buddhist institute is sharply demarcated due to the strict population control of the settlement, forming a strong contrast of density and emptiness in this remote highland in Sichuan, China.
Cheng has won major awards in photography including the National Geographic Photo Contest and Sony World Photography Awards, and was shortlisted in other international contests. He received his architectural and design education in the University of Hong Kong, Tsinghua University and the University of Cambridge.
