The Secrets of Cady Creek

Heading west into The Driftless the flat farm fields fade as the bluffs and hills begin to climb and take over the terrain around me. Roads taking me from one coulee to the next as the bluffs tower above. Giving a feeling as if you were driving through the Appalachian Mountains. I can't tell you how much I love western Wisconsin, but I can show you.
Three years ago I came across this valley while fly fishing. It is something that is so entirely peaceful. A place were you can go and completely disconnect from the busyness of life. Located just north of Elmwood is a coulee where a stream by the name of Cady Creek cuts between the bluffs.
I pulled up to my location and grabbed my gear. I had paid a attention to weather models checking humidity, temperature, and cloud cover. I knew I had so much that had to come together for this shot. It was a vision I had last year as I was fly fishing while I watched the entire valley came to life. The fields glowing with fire flies. It is something so out of this world, something that is just magical to behold.
I set up in the field and watched the fire flies dance before me. The moon began to set as the fog increased in intensity and began to lift up out of the coulee into the night sky. The Milky Way began it's journey through the night sky from south east to south west. I listened to the rushing of the stream in the distant night air as I began my exposure. Standing in solitude I knew I wasn't alone. Watching hundreds of fire flies flash here and there throughout the valley brought about a child like wonder for
