With thunderstorms pulling through the area I couldn't help but notice how intense the lightning was. I grabbed my gear and made my way to the lake as fast as possible. Searching for a dark place to set up I came across a couple and asked for directions. Instead of giving me directions they gave me permission to shoot from their dock.

We climbed down the steps onto the dock and watched as the lake lit up from the symphony of lightning. It was as if a wall of mountains had come to life putting on an epic display of illumination.

I began my exposure as the lightning intensified capturing all of its stunning beauty. It lit up the entire storm cell from the north end to the south. Casting a beautiful glow onto the lake. When you look at this shot I hope you get that same surge of energy as the storm in the distant sky.
