Knowing we wouldn't make it to our first stop in Arizona for sunset, we decided to make a quick detour and shoot Joshua Tree National Park instead. I've been wanting to shoot this tree for some time, but since our stop was unplanned, there was no time to research the location. Joshua Tree NP has over a thousand square miles of desert, so we tried asking the park rangers, but that didn't help. Resigned to the fact the we wouldn't find it, we drove aimlessly for 30 minutes looking for an interesting spot to shoot, but to our surprise, after a left turn on a small side street, there it was.

About author:
I'm a landscape photographer based in the US. An avid student of light and how it reacts with the natural world. I love capturing scenes that speaks to me and evokes a sense of emotion with the viewer. Working in low light is what I do best, exploring the nuances it creates while transforming scenes from the real to the surreal.BACK TO GALLERY
