The mosaics were created under cultural influences of socialist movements of the Soviet Union. These works are narrators to a story of great expectations of the Soviet era. Such expectations are no longer of concern to the contemporaries. Those dreams are for now encrypted in the slowly disappearing mosaics. The creations that were once well mended are now parts of the forgotten. The pictures documented here will help to bring back into the modern existence a massive layer of futuristic past.
This project was shot in Kiev, Ukraine during end 2013 to early 2015. Since the new laws about decommunisation in Ukraine have come into force in May, 2015 the removal of many mosaics is still an ongoing process.
