" Stranded" The Edro III, an 83 meter long, 2,517 ton freighter ran aground in stormy weather in the Sea Caves area of Paphos on 8 December 2011. By the use of light, shade, tonal value and chiaroscuro I am giving the image a more dramatic look. I prefer working almost exclusively in black and white tones to give my images a uniquely timeless appeal, both visually and in terms of the atmosphere and emotions.
Kerstin's specialization is Fine Art, Monochrome long Exposure in Architecture, “Architectural Street Photography” and Landscape Photography.
Photography enables her to express her own personal vision and to recreate the world in her images according to her imagination thus giving them a personal note. She avoids showing the viewer a simple game of patterns and lines, but tries to reach the soul of the structure. Meanwhile, in the innovative “Architectural Street photography” she combines two subjects of equal importance. The presence of people is intended to reveal the architectural object.
Her main aim is to create images that provoke emotion, stimulating the mind of the viewer and to convey her ideas and feelings of beauty which surround us everywhere.
Awards: International Award-Winning B&W Fine Art photographer, with high distinctions in the most important photography competitions worldwide. International Photography Awards (IPA), PX3, Monochrome Awards, ND Awards, Fine Art Photography (FAPA), Merit Award in Black and White Magazine etc. Her photographic work featured in the prestigious Black & White Magazine (USA) , Photography Week (UK), Camerapixo and in the local newspapers Times of Malta, The Independent. She holds the following photography qualifications: AMIPP (MIPP, Malta) and ASWPP (The Societies, UK). Kerstin's photographic work has been exhibited on an international level, Malta, Greece, Germany, Portland -Oregon (USA) etc.
