On a cool and wet night in 2012 I embarked on a stroll around Melbourne Australia with my camera and tripod hoping to get some good reflections. In one laneway I found good lighting and great graffiti. The image languished on my hard drive until, in 2015, I manipulated the image such that it was mirrored and turned sideways. I noticed that the mirroring adjustment gave the impression of ancient Egypt, and so I put the eyes from a doll in the centre to make it look a bit like Cleopatra. This image was accepted into the Creative section of the 2015 Sydney International Exhibition of Photography.

About author:

Two years part time at the Photography Studies College of Melbourne, Australia, gave him a grounding in the principles and elements of art, camera craft, Photoshop and creative photography. Michael has only recently started submitting images to competitions, and has had several accepted by the Sydney International Photography Exhibition 2015 and Better Photography Magazine's Creative Flair Top 50 for 2015. Michael is currently building his first website using Weebly.
