Sulfur hell Kawah Ijen crater

Documentation about the hard work at the Ijen crater on Java. One of the toughest jobs in the world. The workers start middle of the night and the crater is at 2400 meters of altitude. They reduce the sulfur in inhumane conditions. Settled toxic sulfur vapor is in the air and burns in the eyes and to the respiratory tract. Most of the Workers can not buy gas mask or other protective clothing. In baskets they carry 70-90 kg sulfur on their shoulders from the crater valley. Many have multiple stress fractures at the shoulders. Working conditions are so hard is the life expectancy at about 40-50 years
