I was at a family barbeque and get-together, in North Yorkshire, UK, and it was such a rare occasion having all the family there, that I wanted some sort of memento. I came up with the idea of all the hands interlinked, and it was great fun getting everyone to join in! It was a little like the 1970's family game of "Twister"! I wanted to show family unity and bonding, and that's when the idea came to me... Everyone gathered round at a small coffee table, twisting and moving themselves to fit in. I stood on a dining room chair, and balanced precariously, hovering over the top of them... It was such a giggle, and we all warmed to each other much more, once this "ice" had been broken! Because of all the different textures and skin tones I decided to give the image a grainy, grungy effect and converted to a warm monotone to enhance them.

About author:
I am an amateur photographer - passionate and prolific, loving doing what I do. Wherever I go, whatever the occasion, I have a camera with me. I am generally average in all genres of photography, but I am fond of landscapes and macro. Living in the countryside of The Yorkshire Dales, UK, I have a wonderful vista laid out in front of me. A huge blank canvas for me to work from, and whatever the time, or season, I am out there, just living the dream. I find nature, and the countryside my inspiration....BACK TO GALLERY
