Since photographing the aurora the very first time in 2011 and up to today this Is the most intense display I have ever seen.
The night started out rather quietly, but within just a matter of seconds this happened, the sky just flared up in green and it was no problems reading the faint markings on my tripod ballhead, at 2.5 seconds exposure time at iso 1600 and f/2.8 it is almost unheard of overexposing the aurora, but in this case it got real close.
To me this felt like a grand finale of all the years photographing the aurora.
I´ve been actively photographing since November 2012 and try to incorporate the way I feel when capturing a moment in my photography which is reflected in the way I compose and edit my images.
