Shadow Birds. Swans glide with otherworldy grace through an early mist ghosting over Lechlade-on-Thames, England. A 5:30am alarm proved to be worthwhile, although this was not the shot I initially intended. I had originally planned to shoot the church as my subject, with the river in the foreground. But the mist was so heavy I had to improvise. A group of swans gracefully swam past me as the sun started to burn through the morning mist. I whipped the camera off my tripod and captured this image by hand.
