In the series of portraits made in 19th century photographic technique-wet plate collodion, which were scanned and digitally colorized, I photographed my grandmother to whom the context of fashion was something unfamiliar. As the same for wet plate collodion,to which fashion is something unknown and unexplored. I wanted to create associations with editorials, which appear in the magazines. Wet plate collodion involves using self prepared chemicals, the large format camera is also used, so almost perfect rendition of details was exactly what I was looking for. I managed to take what's best from the 19th century and combine it with the present tense. My grandmother had never been interested in wearing fashionable clothes- I wanted to explore her attitude towards each fabric and make a use of her efortlessness towards the subject, as an opposite to professional models.
