My photography is about water. Water is everywhere. Water possesses no specific shape by itself, but is formed by the physical forms and forces surrounding it. Thus, water can take an unlimited number of shapes and colors.
These small water shapes and associated colors arising at the shore are generally imperceptible for the human eye. My photography is an unusual take to water photography, intending to visualize the sculptural and graphical art created by those small, inconspicuous natural phenomena which often pass unperceived.
And it is each time a new surprise to me when looking to a new picture taken and detecting a new artwork created by Nature. The intention of my photography is to mediate the beauty of this sculptural and graphical art to the beholder.

I am a scientist by formation. The curiosity and focus on detail that helped me to be a researcher also led me to detect the beauty of these minute water worlds. Since I was a student, I engaged in close-up and macro photography of still motifs. The experience I gained from these exercises helped me to engage in close-up and macro photography of quickly moving water phenomena – a technique I continuously strive to refine.
Born 1958 in Freiburg, Germany, I was educated as a biologist and worked in Research and Development in Germany, France and – for the last 16 years – Denmark. During all this time, nature photography was my predominant and private hobby. At January 2015, I decided to “go public” with my. Since then, I had my photographies displayed in various exhibitions and shows. For more information, please visit my website.
