By making an explosion on film plane in total darkness, Ono captures the elements of explosion and various forms of energy in a single photograph: light, burn, duration of time and chemical reaction. Each photograph is an object of an experience, and each reveals unique and its own memory of the past. Both quietly and loudly, the photographs tell viewers the terrifying stories of destructive firepower through representing their own physical experiences and not one photographer’s observation through lens.
