No, you may enter as many images as you like.
How can I pay my entry fees?
You can pay by PayPal or Credit/Debit Card (via PayPal). All payments are processed in US currency.
Can I enter images that I have entered in other competitions?
Yes, images entered in other competitions are eligible.
Can I enter an image that has been published?
Both published and unpublished work is accepted
Are digital adjustments allowed?
Photoshop and post processing techniques are allowed, although within reason and taste.
What is considered as a series?
A series consists of at least 3 and no more than 6 images, sharing a common theme and a single title. Series will be judged as an entire piece.
Can I enter one image into multiple categories?
Yes, you may enter the same image into as many categories as want.
Additional fee for next category is $10.
What is a professional and amateur category?
We consider professional photographers those who earn at least half of their income from photography. The Amateur category is for photographers who do not make their main income from
IPOTY 2016 - Official RulesWho may enter
IPOTY is open to all amateur and professional photographers worldwide. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age as of the date of entry.
How to enter
To enter IPOTY please visit iphotographeroftheyear.com to register. Simply log onto the website and follow the online instructions to upload images from your computer. When your submission has been completed, you will get an e-mail confirmation.
Image files should be uploaded to the site as JPG with 900 pixels along the longest length (minimum 800px). Please do not include watermarks, borders or signatures on your entry.
There are two Title Awards:
Professional category Grand Prize: 2500$ in cash
Amateur category Grand Prize: 1500$ in cash
Cash prizes will be paid in USD via PayPal. Any fees incurred for foreign currency transfers will be deducted from the winning amount.
Entries will be judged by nominated judges.A panel of experts in photography will each review all entries and select a group of winning entries on the basis of creativity, artistic merit, subject and style.
Individuals whose images are selected as award winners will be contacted between 15th January and 30th January 2017 and asked to provide a high resolution image of at least 2000px wide@300dpi. This file will be used only to prove the ownership of the image.
Copyright of the images will remain at all times with the photographer.
Images will be used strictly in connection to the awards and will not be used for any other marketing purposes other than to promote International Photographer of the Year.
Winners’ names will be available online at iphotographeroftheyear.com no later than 12 February 2017.
